How does the service operate?
- Family workers can visit people at home or consultations
can be held at any place that is deemed safe for the family
- If preferred, consultations can be held at the centre with
Family Workers
- Group work is an important feature of our work and during
these sessions, staff are always on hand to deal with any
problems or concerns
- Staff may advocate on behalf of parents and initiate help
from other professionals or community services.
- Please note that assessments and appointments are necessary
before receiving services or joining group activities
How can Backstop help me?
Families that come to our center may have issues in regard
to:
- Family Conflict
- Child Protection
- Domestic Violence
- Trauma, Grief and Loss
- Homelessness
- Physical or Mental Health
- Poverty
- Physical or Sexual Assault
Further Priority is given to those families who are experiencing
greater need due to:
- Financial Disadvantage
- Social Isolation
- Ethnicity / Race / Culture
- Gender
- Sexuality
Our staff are trained to deal with all of the above issues.
